Sharon Gamage lives in rural Pekin, IL. She has four children, thirteen grandchildren, and soon to be sixteen great grandchildren. She has been married sixty years to Richard Gamage, her high school sweetheart. As her family grew, they spent many years camping and riding their horses in Eminence, Missouri, along the Jack’s Fork River. Rocky cliffs and crystal-clear water make it a great place to ride, especially in the fall.
After receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1975, Sharon’s life radically changed. Her eyes were opened to the many hurting people unable to live as over-comers. In her passion for God’s Word, and compassion for His people, she began the quest for answers. In 1978, she was asked to teach a Bible Study. This led to speaking engagements at Women’s Aglow, After-glow, and as guest speaker at other churches. Throughout the years she was able to glean from the knowledge of other known Spiritual leaders. She studied Neil Anderson’s books on “Out of Darkness” and “The Bondage Breaker” and worked through his workbooks. She attended Jack Hayford’s “Cleansing Streams” classes in Bloomington and northern Illinois. She took a facilitator’s class under Jim Phillips, a respected pastor and psychologist. She was privileged to sit in several ministry sessions under Dr. Copley from “The Institute of Biblical Healing” in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she learned about “Theophostic Counseling”, a method used by Dr. Ed M. Smith. These ministers along with other resources were instrumental in her journey to her present destination as director of New Pointe Healing Rooms.
Sharon became a member of Crossroads Full Gospel Church in 2001 under the leadership of Pastor Jim Hawkins. She was prayed over and released to teach a Bible Study in 2002 where she taught until the opening of the healing rooms seven years later. In 2005 she attended training sessions at the Spokane Healing Rooms under the direction of Cal Pierce, who re-opened the original healing rooms started by John G. Lakes in the late 1800’s. The Bible Study became the launch pad for the healing rooms that opened in 2008. Sharon became director of the healing rooms at that time. In September of 2009, Crossroads Healing Rooms became members of the International Association of Healing Rooms under Cal Pierce. The I.A.H.R. continues to be the Spiritual covering over the healing rooms. Crossroads Full Gospel Church became New Pointe Church in 2019 under the present pastor, Barry Gamage, who is also co-director of the healing rooms. Sharon has seen many blessed and healed through this ministry.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
God is restoring what was lost in the fall. Lost, was our original identity in Him. Restoration fuels faith and brings healing to the whole person, spirit, soul, and body.
