This picture, is a perfect representation of looking beyond your circumstances to view the cross of Jesus. People see the cross in places like a cemetery, in churches, on jewelry and never really give it a thought. Some people think the cross is a symbol of a “religion”. Trying to ban it from public places. Many people have an “idea” of what a Christian is and the image they should portray to others.
As much as I want to be the perfect image of Jesus to others, I will always fall short of other people’s expectations of me. We live in a fallen world. What is going on around us and recorded on our phones and cameras in the media, is actually awakening the church to arise. The judgements have risen, the division seems to widen even more. The best answer that I can give to other’s is Jesus! It is all about Him. It is about His sacrifice and what He did on the cross for them, for humanity.
God revealed himself in His son. He loved much and gave so much, placing the sins of each person in this entire world on himself. We no longer are in chains and bondage to anything in this world. He has set us free and we are free indeed.
Keep your eyes toward the true purpose of the cross. Turn off the TV, get off social media and don’t allow yourself to be chained to the lies, deceptions and fear. Open the Word of God that brings life and peace in your situation.
So many people need to feel the love of Jesus from us. “May they be brought to complete unity, then the world will know that you sent me and loved them even as you have loved me” John 17:25
