The last six months have been a time of transition for us. Moving, job change, and pastoring a church. Transition means change – it signifies that there is something to leave behind and something to look forward to. It also implies we are already in the process.
The question is what is our response before, during and after the transition? As Christians we need to fully rely on God everyday. He is the one that gives us time to process what is taking place. He becomes our comforter, Father and friend. I believe that our response during times of transition can propel us into our destiny, or keep us from experiencing our true purpose. If we allow Fear, doubt and worry to take root it will keep us connected and focused on our past and what was. He wants us to see what is ahead and to trust Him in the transition.
Many people have experienced terrible events throughout their lives. It’s hard to trust that what God has for their future is good. When we allow ourselves to fully surrender our lives into His hands, we must trust His process. Allow our faith to transition into trust which leads to walking in peace. When we experience peace, then we can look forward with Joy in the transition. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Each person has a destiny and calling on their lives. My dependence has to be on Him and to be secure in who He is.
Position yourself to receive all that He has for you in this season. It is something to look forward to. Determine in your heart to trust the process, to anticipate with Joy and walk in peace during this transition. God loves you so much, His grace is sufficient and He will walk with you and never leave you. I love the picture of Jesus with the child. We may not understand what he asks of us, but if we could only trust and see what he truly has for us.
